This area is rather desolate, proving extremely harsh living conditions for all forms of life. It rests between icecaps, mostly treeless except for some bordering forest areas. A thick layer of ice and snow rest atop frozen subsoil and provide only suitable conditions for low growing vegetation to flourish in small, separated amounts. The vegetations include mostly lichens, mosses, and stunted shrubs. White, white for as far as the eye can see, and then mountains. They border the lands like tall guardians, standing ever strong against invading forces and a prison to those within. The snow, clings desperately to the surface of the land; resilient in its attempt to snuff out the warms, and hold the land in its Icy grip. Beasts roam the land, hardy and cold down to their very soul. Growing up in this barren wasteland has taught them to be fearless, and persistent. They show no mercy, and are given none in return. They are white foxes, hares with dazzling speed, and timber wolves show stand above the rest. Reindeer also travel in massive herds across the land, using their sheer numbers to ward off predators as a single kick could crush ribs and skull.
The shinobi that travel this land either come prepared, or die. Oils, and fats and thick coating of feathers and hide provide the insulation needed to survive. The normal gear would simply result in a frostbitten dead corpse. Food is scares, and must be rationed during the treks across the span of the land. To be short, there are but two Gods here and their names are Ice and Wind. Follow their commands, if they say hide; hide. If they say run; run. If they offer you grace take it. And even then, it may simply come down to the fact you where not ready for this journey. Your mind, body and soul too weak to make the long haul needed, in which case, your simply food for the wolves. Enjoy becoming part of such a majestic creature.
